Paint Color Swatch Book

To make shades of any color add black. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® Colors + Shades.

I like Annie Sloan Chalk Paint  for my craft and furniture projects, but for walls nothing compares to Pure & Original Fresco Lime Paint. I love the natural variations of shades and tones the lime creates within one paint color. You have to see how gorgeous it is! Checkout my most recent interior design make overs with Fresco. P.S  Pure and Original also makes a chalk based paint called Classico in 140 colors! Its amazing too!

    1. Hi Kim,
There isn't actually a book. I designed the Swatch Book image from a journal I keep on my projects. I scanned the paint samples into my computer for accuracy. You could try printing it on your printer, but typically, colors can be inconsistent from one brand to the next. Annie Sloan stockists (I am not one) do sell hand painted color charts, but only for the premixed colors, not custom colors or tints. I started keeping samples of the colors I mixed, and thought it might be helpful for others to use as a starting point. Thanks for asking, Leslie

  2. Oh Leslie when I look at your tints and mixes on these charts I am in awe. Looks fantastic. I have a new color combo im going to try that is inspired by a chinese tree peony that I raise. Arles and Scandinavian pink ... go from there. Im an going to tag you the flower I think its a unusual combo. I love unusual.

  3. Terri, your tree peony sounds gorgeous,. I hadn't thought about using Arles and Scandi Pink together, I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm with you about the unusual. I feel like I have painted the more popular traditional color combos so many times , they start to look boring. Lovely but boring. I need a little spice at times.

  4. Hey Leslie--
Have been perusing your blog again...am going to the store to get a couple brushes and am going to start my first project tonight! (A framed chalkboard that is crying out to be cuter!) I thought I remembered reading on your blog something about this chart--the mixture of each square (I can't seem to type this out clearly!). The square on the left is the straight color, the next one is 3:1 the color plus OW, the next is 2:2, etc. I might be way off--could you tell me what you did to get these swatches? Thank you so much! Off to buy some Pure White. ;) Thank you!!

    1. Hi Delynn, the swatch next to the color is 1 part color, 1 part white. The next swatch lighter is 1 part color mixed with 2 parts white. These are approximate ratios. On really dark and strong colors, I might have had to add 3 or 4 parts white to see a noticeable change. Cant wait to see your chalkboard!,
